The Body Scan is a guided meditation that helps us primarily do two important things: 1. Relax our entire bodies and rid our bodies of stress, and 2. Help us identify our body’s “cues” that something is stressing us, so that we can learn to become aware of our growing stress before we get to the point where we are overwhelmed, and in that space of acknowledgement, we have the opportunity to employ a calming technique to reduce our stress. Finally, if you use the free journal along with this and practice the body scan, recording your observations afterward, you can begin to identify your own patterns of stress and investigate what is/are the source/s of your own stress so that you can address them in a productive way.
