About Mindful Living & Learning

Life-long Learning. That’s been my focus. I’m Sandy Juniper, educator, coach, and mentor. As an educator and as a human being, my mission is always to stretch my skills and abilities, professionally and personally. As a high school English teacher, Instructional Coach and Teaching & Learning Content Specialist, I stretched my skills through formal study resulting in two degress and 60+ hours of graduate credit beyond my Masters. I stretched by working with students in all demographics, socially, financially, and academically, working in high-profile suburban schools in Ohio, Arizona, and South Carolina, and I stretched by working with average, Honors, and at-risk students. When I didn’t find the answers, I did the research, into such areas as growth mindset, mindful classrooms, classroom management and, ultimately, one of the most significant areas I have worked in: trauma-informed classrooms. When I needed new ways to help my own students or those of other teachers with whom I worked, I researched to find the answers. These were all things I wish I had known as a young new teacher. I have enjoyed those challenges, those opportunities, and the lessons I learned from research, from working with other teachers, and from all the diverse students and families with whom I worked. And I LOVE sharing them with other teachers. Nothing makes me happier to help other teachers grow and learn.

Learning didn’t stop when I went home. Stress. Overwhelm. Chaos. Confusion. These were all a part of my life because not only was I an educator who worked long hours, but I was also (for most of my son’s life) a single mom dealing with the overwhelming reality of managing my work, my students, my life as a single mom, my social connections, and more. I was tired, worn out, and depressed. I knew there had to be a better way. Thus was born my voyage into the worlds of Personal Growth and Meditation. The results were immediate and promising. As I felt the changes, I dove into the research, into types of meditation, and eventually into the whole world of mindfulness, of which meditation is just one part.

As I always do, when I learn something that has helped me, I want to share it, so I ventured into teaching students, teachers, and others about mindfulness, and eventually, into life coaching and hypnotherapy. Twenty years later, I have not only felt the effects of mindfulness on my life, but I can attest to the myriad of ways my students (youth and adult, personal and professional) have shared that mindfulness has helped them.

These personal and professional experiences have resulted in my current work: helping others grow, as professionals and as individual human beings. I offer both online and in-person teacher professional development in trauma-informed classrooms, classroom management, and growth mindset, among other topics. I also provide teacher coaching, and online courses for individual personal growth and for educator professional growth. My sincere hope is that these offerings will benefit all who engage with them.

My credentials include the following: B.S. and M.Ed in Secondary Education, experience as a high school and community college teacher, ELA Instructional Coach, and Teaching & Learning ELA Content Specialist, and. most recently, Professional Development Creator and Facilitator. I am a Certified Master Life Coach (with specialties in Happiness, Success, and Goal Attainment) and a Certified Hypnotherapist, as well. - Sandy Juniper, Owner, Creator, Teacher, and Coach
